DAVID
WAS AN AIRFORCE MEDIC FROM 1963-1967 AND THIS PAINTING REPRESENTS THE SACRIFICES MADE BY SO MANY YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN. THE WALL IS A VERY EMOTIONAL PLACE TO HIM AND REPRESENTS 1000'S OF SOLDIERS THAT NEVER CAME HOME TO THIER FAMILIES AND FRIENDS CREATING A VOID AT FAMILY GATHERINGS.
THE SCENES IN THE PAINTING DEPICTS:
THE VETERAN
WITH HIS HAND ON THE WALL REMEMBERING A FRIEND.
TWO SOLDIERS
PRAYING NEAR A CROSS FOR THIER FALLEN COMRADE.
THE MEDIC
CARRYING A WOUNDED BABY TO SAFETY.
TWO MEDICS COMING TO THE RESCUE OF A FALLEN SOLDIER.
THE SHADOW SOLDIERS
DOING THEIR JOB 24/7.
A NURSE
COMFORTING A DYING SOLDIER.
THE SOBBING SOLDIER
IN A MOMENT OF ABSOLUTE DESPAIR.
THE DOOR-GUNNER
DOING HIS JOB PROTECTING SOLDIERS DURING A FIREFIGHT.
THESE MEMORIES ARE BURNED IN DAVID'S MIND SO DEEPLY, IT ALL COULD HAVE HAPPENED YESTERDAY.
